Pozycja Open Access Ocena odporności na rdzę koronową nowych i historycznych polskich odmian owsa zwyczajnego(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2014) Paczos-Grzęda, Edyta Małgorzata; Okoń, Sylwia; Koroluk, Aneta; Kowalczyk, Krzysztof; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Lublinie; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Lublinie; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Lublinie; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w LublinieCrown rust is a commonly occurring fungal disease of oat caused by Puccicnia coronata Cda. F.sp. avenae P. Syd. & Syd. Oat crop loss caused by this pathogen ranged to 50%. The most effective, economical and environmentally friendly method for controlling crown rust is growing resistant cultivars. The aim of presented study was characteristic of polish oat cultivars. Objectives of presented study were 78 oat cultivars collected in Institute of Plant Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology University of Life Science in Lublin. The host-pathogen tests were carried out on the first leaves of 10 days old seedlings using PK2010 isolate. Obtained results shown that 3 oat cultivars (Borowiak, Celer and Krezus) were resistant to PK2010 isolate in seedling stage. However, only Borowiak and Celer were resistant also in adult plant stage. The rest of cultivars showed a susceptible or intermediate infection type.Pozycja Open Access Zastosowanie markerów silicoDArT do oceny polimorfizmu międzyodmianowego Avena sativa L.(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2014) Paczos-Grzęda, Edyta Małgorzata; Bednarek, Piotr Tomasz; Koroluk, Aneta; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Lublinie; Instytut Hodowli i Aklimatyzacji Roślin, Radzików; Instytut Genetyki, Hodowli i Biotechnologii Roślin, Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w LublinieAvena sativa is an important breeding species in Poland which is due to the presence of proteins, soluble fibers, fat, minerals and vitamins. Nevertheless, the development of breeding programs of Avena is limited to low within species genetic variability. Thus, marker technologies capable of identification of many polymorphic markers is required to ensure further breeding progress. The current study was devoted to the exploitation of the silicoDArT markers, based on new generation sequencing approach, for the differentiation of a number of Avena sativa lines from Polish breeding companies. More than 8000 polymorphic markers were identified that differentiated the analyzed materials according to their origin. Cluster analysis and PCoA demonstrated distinctiveness of the materials from breeding companies, especially from Plant Breeding Strzelce. It is being suggested that crossing cultivars originated from different breeding programs should support progress in this species.
