Laboratory experiment was carried out on loamy sang with Corg content 8.7 g ・ kg–1. Into soil samples different combinations of gasoline or diesel oil (at the dosage of 50 g ・ kg–1) and calcium peroxide (at the amounts of 100 and 200 mg ・ kg–1) were added. Samples were adjusted to 60% maximum water holding capacity, and they were incubated for four weeks in tightly closed glass containers at temperature of 20°C. In soil treated with CaO2 and petroleum products, soil oxidoreductase activities were measured on days 1, 7, 14 and 28. Soil contamination with gasoline decreased in all oxidoreductase activities, while contamination with diesel oil increased in dehydrogenases and caused slight changes in catalase and o-diphenol oxidase activity. Effect of CaO2 on oxidoreductase activities in soil uncontaminated and contaminated with gasoline and diesel oil proved diversified, and depended on enzyme, incubation time, type of petroleum product and calcium peroxide dosage. Application of CaO2 in soil contaminated with petroleum products caused mainly stimulation of dehydrogenases and catalase.Pozycja Open Access Effect of preharvest use of anti-cracking preparations on changes in selected parameters of sweet cherry fruits during frozen storage(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2016) Telesiński, Arkadiusz; Mikiciuk, Grzegorz; Mikiciuk, Małgorzata; Stręk, Michał; Płatkowski, Maciej; Statkiewicz, Małgorzata; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin; Department of Horticulture, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology SzczecinThis paper presents the study on comparison of the changes of dry weight content, total polyphenols content, total flavonoids content, and antioxidant activity in sweet cherry fruit in frozen storage, depending on the used preharvest anti-cracking preparations. The study material was sweet cherry fruits of the ‘Burlat’ cultivar, that were treated with anti-cracking preparations. In fresh fruits and during their frozen storage at temperature –25°C (after 60, 120, and 180 days), the mentioned parameters were determined. The preharvest use of anti- -cracking preparations caused an increase in total flavonoids content, and antioxidant activity was observed. In plant untreated anti-cracking preparations, decrease in antioxidant parameters were observed. The preharvest use of during frozen storage deepened the decrease of total flavonoids content and antioxidant activity but limited the changes in the content of dry weight and total polyphenols. The analysis of the kinetic degradation demonstrated that total flavonoid content was characterized by higher stability in the fruits, which were not treated with anti- -cracking preparations. An opposite trend was determined for total polyphenols content.Pozycja Open Access Effects of Cadmium and Salinity-Sodicity on Acid and Alkaline Phosphatase Activity with Reference to Ecological Importance of Soil Pollution(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2015) Telesiński, Arkadiusz; Stręk, Michał; Śnioszek, Martyna; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, Poland; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, Poland; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, PolandThe aim of the study was to determine the changes of the acid and alkaline phosphatase activity in the soil caused by the presence of cadmium and NaCl. The experiment was carried out in the laboratory condition, on soil samples taken from the arable-humus horizon of Gumieniecka Plain black earths. Granulometric composition of this soil was sandy loam. The organic carbon content was 1.09%, total nitrogen content was 0.14% and pH in 1 M KCl 6.81. Various concentrations of Cd(NO3)2 and NaCl were introduced to soil samples. The amount of cadmium added to the soil was 0, 1, 5 and 25 mg Cd2+ · kg–1 , and the amount of NaCl was 0 and 0.5% of soil weight. On day 1, 7, 14, 28 , 56 and 112 alkaline and acid phosphatase activity was determined spectrophotometrically. The obtained results are converted with respect to the enzyme activity in the soil controls (assuming it to be 100%) and given as percent of inhibition. The results were shown as environmental danger zones graphs. The activity of acid and alkaline phosphatase changed significantly after addition of cadmium and sodium chloride to the soil. Both, cadmium and salinity of the soil, caused inhibition of phosphatase activity, which increased with enhancing concentration of metals in the soil. Sodium chloride intensified the negative effect of cadmium on phosphatase activity in the soil. Observed inactivation of phosphatases caused by 25 mg Cd2+ · kg–1 of Cd ranged, on the graphs of ecological danger zones, in the area of critical values, which may indicate that cadmium disturbs the metabolism of phosphorus compounds in soil.Pozycja Open Access Ocena ubocznego oddziaływania spinosadu na aktywność oksydazy o-difenolowej w glebie(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2012) Telesiński, Arkadiusz; Płatkowski, Maciej; Zakład Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w Szczecinie; Zakład Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w SzczecinieInto the loamy sand and sandy loam introduced the insecticide Spintor 240 SC, containing active substance spinosad, in the field dose, 5, 10 and 25 times larger. After treatment soil of spinosad o-diphenol oxidase activity was significant changed, but effect of spinosad was not connected with dose of insecticide. Effect of spinosad depended on soil properties: in loamy sand induced stimulation, but in sandy loam induced inhibition of o-diphenol activity.Pozycja Open Access Response of soil peroxidases to 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids with tetrafluoroborate anion(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2017) Telesiński, Arkadiusz; Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, West Pomeranian University of Technology, SzczecinThe aim of study was to determine effect of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids with tetradluoroborate anion on activity of soil peroxidases. The experiment was carried out in laboratory conditions with samples of loamy sand (Corg 8.71 g · kg–1, pHKCl 6.36), sandy loam (Corg 10.92 g · kg–1, pHKCl 6.81) and sandy clay loam (Corg 33.81 g · kg–1, pHKCl 7.13). Samples were sieved through a 2-mm mesh, and then three ionic liquids: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF4], 1-bhexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [HMIM][BF4], and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF4] at the dosages of 0, 10, 100, and 1000 mg · kg–1 were added to soil. Activity of peroxidases was measured spectrophotometrically on days 1, 3, 7, 14, 28, 56 and 112. Application of different dosages of all ILs caused mainly significant changes in activity of peroxidases. Changes in activity of peroxidases depended on the dosage of ionic liquids, incubation time, and soil properties. The effect of ILs on activity of peroxidases increased not only with an increasing dosage, but also with elongation of alkyl substituents in the cation. The highest impact of ILs on activity of peroxidases was observed in loamy sand.Pozycja Open Access Wpływ zasolenia na aktywność dehydrogenaz w odniesieniu do ekologicznego znaczenia skażenia gleby(Wydawnictwo Uczelniane Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie, 2014) Telesiński, Arkadiusz; Onyszko, Mirosław; Płatkowski, Maciej; Stręk, Michał; Katedra Fizjologii Roślin i Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w Szczecinie; Katedra Fizjologii Roślin i Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w Szczecinie; Katedra Fizjologii Roślin i Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w Szczecinie; Katedra Fizjologii Roślin i Biochemii, Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny w SzczecinieThe aim of this study was to determine dehydrogenases activity in the soil with the addition of NaCl in different concentrations and to identify whether the observed changes to be considered dangerous, tolerated, or insignificant for soil ecosystem. The study was carried out on samples of loamy sand, sandy loam and sandy clay loam. The aqueous NaCl solutions were introduced to soil in the doses of: 0; 0.05; 0.50; 5.00; 50.00 mmol · kg–1. Dehydrogenases activity was measured spectrophotometrically in 1, 3, 7, 14, 28, 56 and 112 day of incubation. The results are indicated in the graphs of ecological hazard zones (Domsch et al. 1983). The presence in soil of sodium chloride caused inhibition of dehydrogenases activity. The observed inhibition level of these enzymes was greatest in loamy sand and decreased with organic carbon and clay fraction ≤ 0.002 mm. Soil salinity with largest doses of NaCl (5.00 and 50.00 mmol · kg–1), in relation to ecological significance of soil contamination could turn into its degradation.
