    In the experiment, the Plant-development on mono-iiths originating from 4 various dephts of three profiles of podsols, was compared, namely: 1. from an arable field, 2. from an about 30 years old pine forest, and 3. from an about 80 years old pine forest. It was stated that peat preparations have a very favourable effect on the development of plants cultivated on an arable field where the podsolization process had been interrupted,-a less intensive influence has been proved in case of monoliths from a 30 years old pine forest, and a quite unfavourable effect was established on monoliths originating from a 80 years old forest where the process of podsolization was proved as to be the most advanced. In this experiment it was also stated that humus compounds of pead preparations in combination with pohosphoro-nitrogen dressing have yielded good results what complies with the already known in the literature phosphoro-humus ef fect. In case of phosphoro-nitro-potassium dressing the effect of peat preparations was found as to be a very poor one. On the other hand, the influence of said peat preparations in case of a phosphoro-nitrogen combination was proved to be similar to that one obtained when potassium fertilization was applied. It was in conclusion stated that the application of preparations as fertilizers has a very similar physiological effect to that one exerted by potassium dressing.
